Many believe that a static rope has the same length under any load, this point of view is incorrect. Static rope tends to lengthen by 3-5%. This is almost two times less than that of a dynamic rope. The elongation depends on the material from which the rope is made and on the weight attached to it. Static ropes perfectly withstand the load and are less susceptible to mechanical damage, they are denser and tougher.

When working at height, this type of rope is used very rarely. Under the influence of the load, this rope practically does not lengthen, since it has almost no elasticity. This rope is convenient to use when moving goods. It is better not to use a superstatic rope for work at height as a main or safety rope.
