A ratchet tie downs buckle or, in a popular way, “ratchet” is the main element of the tensioning belt. The ratchet is used to tension the tape and keep it in tension. The quality of the ratchet mechanism largely determines the overall reliability of the tie down. Ergo ratchet tie downs buckle differs from the standard with a double gear wheel, as well as an elongated handle with a rubber coating.
The belt tension occurs in the opposite direction, compared to the standard one. This makes it possible to apply more force when tensioning the belt.
