Lever or gear?
Hand hoists can be divided into two categories: lever and gear hoists. The main difference between these two types of hoists is where the force is applied. When using a lever hoist, the operator must be directly next to it, since in order to lift the load, it is necessary to move the lever on the hoist. The gear chain is attached at the top, and the operator, standing on the floor, lifts the load by moving the drive chain.
The advantages of chain hoists are the simplest structure and a high level of reliability. Chain hoists are characterized by a long service life, and they are also very simple and convenient to operate. Hand hoists can be found in mining, warehouses, factories, etc. In construction, where building materials and tools need to be moved every day, hand hoists are simply irreplaceable. Chain hoists are used to work with heavy loads weighing up to 10 tons, which can be lifted to a height of up to 12 meters.
Gear hoists can be equipped with transfer trolleys. To do this, a special monorail structure or beam is mounted and a trolley with a hoist is already suspended on it. This design is used for horizontal transportation of materials indoors.
