SKP sling (bushing)

SKP is a universal rope sling (USR) of a simple design with 2 loops. Loop rope slings SKP (USK1) are designed for hanging one loop on the hook of a lifting machine and attaching another loop directly to the load. Also, SKP slings can be used for tying cargo when slinging using the “basket” or “loop” method.

USK1 slings: design features

SKP loop rope slings are manufactured in two versions - by braiding and crimping with a sleeve, according to the modern European standard DSTU EN 13414-1:2018, which replaced the outdated DSTU B V.2.8-10-98.

Slings made using crimping are cheaper than braided ones. Crimping involves looping the ends of the rope into a special aluminum sleeve, which is compressed under alternating static and dynamic loads. In addition to crimping, the surface of the sleeve is often additionally tapped. This increases the friction force between the ropes and allows them to withstand high tensile loads.
